From time to time Free Software surprises me. Yesterday I discovered Xbmc, and I was amazed: It works so well and it’s so beautiful in Ubuntu 12.04:

In addition to my 4€ remote control, I now have a real mediacenter. A big thank you to the Xbmc developers.

Fixing a small conflict between ZenCoding and SnapOpen

Working with gedit3, I noticed that after enabling ZenCoding, SnapOpen stopped working. This is because ZenCoding uses “Control+Alt+O”, which is also a SnapOpen shortcut.

A simple hack is to edit the ZenCoding plugin. Edit `~/.local/share/gedit/plugins/zencoding/__init__.py` and change the shortcut to “Control+Alt+U” for example.

Weird autotest error message: “autotest/rails_rspec_rspec2 doesn’t seem to exist”

This happens when you mix rspec 1 and rspec 2 in the same environment. In my case I had to uninstall rspec 1.3.2 from my Ruby 1.9.3 RVM environment.
